The lovely people at yumchaa teas invited me over to exhibit some of the images in the B&W Competition to kick off their “week of romance & love” to tie in with Valentines Day. I was in good company with some local jazz singers, Mills & Boone editors and a couple of other launch night activities.
Yumchaa specialise in loose leaf teas, green, white, red and black in all sorts of great flavours. Passion attracts passion and if you go visit and take in the atmosphere its a cool, relaxed, quirky set of tea rooms full of creative people all with a passion for tea and great sticky toffee fruit cake (sean’s special recipe).
Whilst they have a number of shops, I was at the Camden Town venue which is on the old site of Palmers Pet Store. Apparently Winston Churchill used to buy his pets there. So listed frontage, great character inside and a cool wall for Exhibits meant my hand finished B&W images with their ’shabby chic’ frames from The Framing workshop just looked awesome.
I sat down in the comfy sofa and waited for people to gather and ask questions on photography, Weddings, Tea, Coffee, Italians…. anything really.
I had a great time and hope to be part of a continued series of chats and gatherings. In fact they asked me back to run a few beginner photography classes running through the basics an then perhaps a little local shoot.
My fee is currently a Chelsea Chai Green tea !!! To die for……
So if you are in Camden Town, need to warm up and take in a private tea room with all the trimmings, wander down the back and look at the images hanging, careful you may get spotted as one might be you..
