Getting married in Italy, a little about me and a lot about getting married in Italy by a Wedding Service who offers soup to nuts, or just there to support your DIY

I have participated in a number of Weddings in Italy in recent times and as many of you would have read my passion for Italy is boundless. They love brides and the whole country seems to be able to tolerate most things when a bride is involved. Last year in Ascoli on the East Coast, two police officers actually opened a Piazza (square) up for me (when I asked) so that I could get the Bride & Groom some amazing shots as the icing on the Photographic Wedding cake.

In the UK, lord alone knows what would have happened taking pictures in a public place and of a building or two !!!

This is the beautiful attitude of the Italian people that no bride should ignore these days. The strength of the Euro in 2010 has definitely seen an adjustment to how many brides are going to Europe to get married, cost being a major factor, but also the complexities of getting married abroad often means a planner of some description is needed, so where do you start.

This year I met My Weddings & More , in particular Bonnie who was a breath of fresh air. Not only do they offer you a full planning service, but also will provide the paperwork only exercise for the DIY bride who has already found all the items that make up the Wedding Day. Look them up and give them a buzz if you are thinking of a wedding in Italy. They can advise on all areas from a full service to simply ensuring the paperwork arrives on time.

Bonnie kindly blogged my services recently in a BYOP style. Click Here if you have 2 minutes.

Thanks Bonnie and see you soon I hope now that European Air routes have opened again.

The lovely people at yumchaa teas invited me over to exhibit some of the images in the B&W Competition to kick off their “week of romance & love” to tie in with Valentines Day. I was in good company with some local jazz singers, Mills & Boone editors and a couple of other launch night activities.

Yumchaa specialise in loose leaf teas, green, white, red and black in all sorts of great flavours. Passion attracts passion and if you go visit and take in the atmosphere its a cool, relaxed, quirky set of tea rooms full of creative people all with a passion for tea and great sticky toffee fruit cake (sean’s special recipe).

Whilst they have a number of shops, I was at the Camden Town venue which is on the old site of Palmers Pet Store. Apparently Winston Churchill used to buy his pets there. So listed frontage, great character inside and a cool wall for Exhibits meant my hand finished B&W images with their ’shabby chic’ frames from The Framing workshop just looked awesome.

I sat down in the comfy sofa and waited for people to gather and ask questions on photography, Weddings, Tea, Coffee, Italians…. anything really.

I had a great time and hope to be part of a continued series of chats and gatherings. In fact they asked me back to run a few beginner photography classes running through the basics an then perhaps a little local shoot.

My fee is currently a Chelsea Chai Green tea !!! To die for……

So if you are in Camden Town, need to warm up and take in a private tea room with all the trimmings, wander down the back and look at the images hanging, careful you may get spotted as one might be you..
